Ike Roberts Tottenville 6'/180 lbs. Wide Receiver Consensus All City Award (Two Consecutive Years) How does a twist of fate in your life earn you top football honors? For this consensus All City player for two consecutive years it started with a revolution in his native country Liberia. Roberts and his family came to America eight years ago to escape the upheaval in his homeland. He is now one of the best - if not the best players in New York City. Last season, Roberts was second in receptions in Staten Island, grabbing 40 balls for 685 yards- a 17.1 average - in leading the Pirates to the first round of the PSAL playoff. He also had nine TD receptions. Had it not been for the twist of fate, Roberts would probably be a soccer star in his country. Now he is destined to be a Terrapin and future star for the University of Maryland.
